BRISBANE TO GLADSTONE – THE OLD DAYS
I love the beautiful designs of old yachts. Their beautiful lines and detailed woodwork emanate such a romantic feel of days gone by.
This painting portrays one of the original competitors in the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race- a Payne 95 feet Yawl. With all sails hoisted, this boat is really flying through the water.
The Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race is considered by the yachting fraternity and the general public to be one of Australia’s flagship ocean yacht races. The Race is an icon of Queensland and the highest profile Easter Weekend sporting event, setting sail from Moreton Bay on Good Friday.
The painting is in black and white making it suitable for any decor and is set on a copy of the navigational chart of the Gladstone area.
