Mysteries of Mayan Civilisation

I have travelled extensively through South America and Central America over the years and became fascinated by the Mayan culture. This civilisation no longer exists and there is no explanation for its disappearance.

I have drawn on my experiences when visiting the Mayan pyramids, sacrificial sites, their Ceiba trees and their depiction of warriors, jaguars, condors and animals and of course, the gold and jewellery. These are reflected in a geometrical collage of Mayan artifacts and images.

This painting features a dark brown background, with the use of ochre, bright blues, oranges, greens, turquoise and gold. It comes unframed, however the sides are painted so it is ready to hang on the wall if no frame is desired.
