This painting was inspired by a photo taken while racing between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast passing the stunning Glasshouse Mountains on the way. I loved the photo with the blue spinnaker framed against the gorgeous rich colours of the sunset. The Glasshouse Mountains just framed the entire vista.

SUNSET SAILING PAST GLASSHOUSE MOUNTAINS
Rich oranges, musty maroons and bright reds and yellows – that is a sunset! Everyone loves to watch the slow setting of the sun into the west. It is particularly spectacular watching it from the cockpit of a boat.
It brings peace after a long day’s sailing and heralds the settling in for the night and the rostered sharing among the crew of the night watch.
